Demo Pack

You demo pack contains:
– 1 Laser
– 1 Level Sensor
– 1 Crack Monitor

LASER SAFETY!
Your demo pack contains a class 2, 360 degree laser. Consider your eye safety when operating and mounting the unit. Installation should ideally be above head height to reduce risks. If configuring the laser, cover the laser on the top of the laser reflector with your hand to protect your eyes.

Installing Batteries
Australian Users: Your devices will use either 1x Lipo 18650 or 3 x 1.2v NiMH AA rechargeable batteries and will usually be supplied so you can skip this step.

International users: Your devices will use 3 x 1.2v NiMH 2000mAh AA rechargeable batteries (NOT supplied).  

– Holding the back down on a tabletop, gently wiggle and pry the case off.
– Install the batteries.
– Carefully replace the case without catching or squashing any cables.
– Clamp the case shut.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT use any other types of batteries and DO NOT connect anything to the USB port.  

Connecting to Wifi & Setting the Schedule:
– Using a paperclip, hold the power button (marked with a green dot) down for 2 seconds. You should see a single blue LED flash.
– The device will turn on the web portal will be available via wifi for approximately 2 minutes before timing out.

– Connect to the device’s wifi with your phone or tablet. It will appear as SLABsense-##-##-##-##-##-##. The password is: SlabHeave
– If your phone doesn’t auto load the config page, in a browser enter http://10.10.0.1 as the URL Address

– Set your scheduled wake hour and Timezone location
– Select your wifi network and enter your password to connect the device to your wifi.
– Click Done

The device will reboot, take and upload a measurement and then go into deep sleep until the scheduled wake time.
You should see 2 blue LED flashes after around 30 seconds indicating successful Deep Sleep.  

Note: This is also where you can Power off the device – There is no physical OFF Button.

Installation

Mounting:
– Mount on the wall using ideally 2 x 3M 2.2kg adhesive strips or using plaster plugs and screws and the optional mounting brackets.
Do not use velcro adhesive strips.

Positioning:
Laser:
Select a wall least likely to move in the target area, ideally towards the centre of the home if monitoring external walls and where all sensor locations  are covered by the laser line.
– Power it on, connect to the device settings and select Minute Mode to have the laser auto turn on every X minutes to help with sensor installation. NOTE: This option rapidly uses battery power and will need to be tuned off once the home’s devices are all installed.

Sensors:
– Position in key areas of interest.
– Power on the laser or use Minute Mode, so you can see the laser line.
– Ensure the laser beam will hit the entire front of the sensor case, ideally as ‘front on’ as possible.
– Mount the sensor to the wall with the adhesive strips, ensure the device is the correct way up (as per the sticker on the back).
– Repeat for each sensor.

Crack Monitor:
– Select the widest point in the crack.
– Place the supplied marker sticker just ABOVE the crack in portrait orientation and at 90 degrees to the crack.
– Position the device as per the photo below. This ensures the target marker is in the correct position for detection.
– Mount the device with at least 1 full 3M adhesive on the base of the device and BELOW the cack with the lens cavity ABOVE the crack and aligned with the target sticker.

Operation
– Power on the devices by holding the power button on the side for 2 seconds. You should see a single blue flash.
– Wait approximately 2 minutes for the config menu to timeout and confirm correct sleep mode with 2 further flashes.
– Devices will automatically wake at their scheduled wake time each day for around 30 seconds, to take a measurement and upload data.

Access the dashboard at https://app.slabsense.com or for installers Https://slabsensefl.tago.run
A Username & Password will have been provided with your pack or via email.
